School, Community, and Organization Education

Prevention Team

Hope Alliance supports victims of domestic violence and prevents these situations from ever occurring.
The Prevention Team works in schools and organizations across Williamson County using a curricula called Project Empowerment.

The Prevention Specialist facilitates the groups and provides all the materials. The Prevention Specialist is also available to provide any additional training for teachers, parents, and staff.

The goal of Project Empowerment is to develop assets in children that foster non-violence. The topics encourage them to make healthy choices, gain responsibility in relationships, and to increase self awareness. Project Empowerment is based on theories of primary prevention of violence, a method of prevention that changes attitudes and norms that lead to violence. The hope of primary prevention is to reach a child with positive messages that build positive assets before unhealthy and negative messages do. Project Empowerment does this through interactive games, thought-provoking discussion, and community projects.
